Finish a bracelet: clasp or zip

Close a beaded cuff or band with a slide clasp, a button or a peyote zip.

Find a pattern to finish

Steps

  1. Check the length. Wrap the band around the wrist. It should meet with room for one finger.
  2. Choose the closure. A slide clasp suits a wide band, a button suits a narrow one, and a zip suits a cuff that slips over the hand.
  3. Attach it. Stitch through the end beads and the clasp loops three times, one loop at a time.
  4. Or zip the ends. Bring the two ends together so the raised beads interlock, then pass the thread through each pair in turn.
  5. Tie off. Weave the thread back through a few rows, tie a small knot between beads and trim the end.
